The Play

Hi everyone

Well it has bin a busy last few days. I did a shoot for the theater company in town as you can see from the photo above. I was not allowed to use flash so I had to crank my ISO to 1600! This is one of the many reasons I love the D3. I did not run any noise Apps. and even at 1600 the image is very usable. Another thing was I was racked out to 200mm shooting at 1/90 and I was still able to hand hold for this shot. A trick to hand holding in a situation like this is to shoot in burst. If you shoot in burst and take around 5 or so frames than your chances of getting a few good frames are pretty high. Now the way you hold the camera also factors in. I like to wedge the camera in my shoulder sort of like a violin, and have my week hand pushed up against the front of the camera with the lens between my thumb and index finger.

Now I am sorry that I have not really had the chance to post any studio lighting shots yet but rest assured that they are coming. I will post shots of 'behind the scenes' with lighting diagrams and the such and I will post the final results from the shoots.
Well I hope you all have a pleasant day and I well post more soon!

Postponed Portraits

Shot with a single snooted SB-800 rear center

Well the Portrait session I had for this afternoon has bin pushed back. Oh well that is fine. I have two other shoots I have to do today so I am a little relieved. I am going on two months without a real day off now. Hopefully I will have a brake soon. Well I will post some photos from tonight in the morning. Until then, take care!
